  • Tallow is a traditional finished product made by slowly rendering animal fat or suet. We specifically use beef suet, which is the nutrient-rich fat surrounding the organs. Tallow has been used for generations in cooking, frying, soap making, and skincare because of its versatility and nourishing properties.

  • Many people with sensitive or dry skin find tallow-based skincare very gentle and nourishing because its fatty acid profile is similar to the skin’s natural oils. If you are transitioning from conventional skincare products that contain synthetic ingredients or harsh chemicals, your skin may need about a week to adjust to the new products and ingredients.

  • Our products are made with simple, recognizable ingredients and without harsh preservatives, synthetic fragrance, or essential oils. So you don’t need to panic if your toddler gets into it. However, we always recommend patch testing first and consulting your healthcare provider if you have concerns.

  • No. We intentionally avoid essential oils in our tallow products. Instead, we slowly infuse herbs into olive oil over a 6+ week period to create a gentler, more nourishing product suitable for sensitive skin.

  • Some products may have a subtle natural tallow scent due to our gentle rendering process, which is intentionally done at low temperatures to help preserve the nutrients and integrity of the tallow. Products without herbal infusions, or those infused with very mild herbs such as chamomile or calendula, may retain a slightly earthy or beef-like aroma. We do not use synthetic fragrances or heavy essential oils to mask the natural scent of our ingredients.

  • Essential oils are highly concentrated plant compounds that can sometimes irritate sensitive skin, disrupt the skin barrier, or lead to sensitization over time with frequent use, especially when used frequently or in high amounts. We prefer traditional herbal infusions because they provide a more balanced and gentle approach to skincare.

  • Apply a small amount to skin and pat or press gently until the area is covered. Avoid excessive rubbing or massaging as it can irritate the skin and work against the product. It may take 30 minutes to an hour for the product to fully absorbed into the skin barrier. A little goes a long way.

  • Store your products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Your bathroom cabinet would be a great place. Because our products are made with natural ingredients and no harsh preservatives, texture may soften in warmer temperatures, or harden in cooler temperatures.

Each product is made to order to ensure freshness and quality. Depending on the ingredients and formulation, products typically have a shelf life ranging from 9 months to 2 years. Every product will include a best by date for reference and recommended use.

  • Because each product is made to order, production times may range from 1–10 days depending on the item and current order volume. Once your order is complete, it will be shipped promptly and tracking information will be provided.
